Strawbery Macarons

I got my macaron mojo back!

I've had such a fabulous day... I'm so happy that winter is finally ending. It's sunny and 57 or so today, which is convertible weather if you ask me!

These are for my friend who recently turned 18. She loves strawberries.

Shells:

a few drops red food coloring
30g granulated sugar
3 egg whites
110g almonds
200g powdered sugar

Combine the red food coloring and granulated sugar (I used a food processor, but a fork works, too), then follow Helen's method: [link]

For the filling, I used about a cup of whipped cream that I stabilized with a little gelatin and sweetened with powdered sugar. I folded in some mashed strawberries and called it a day!
