Macarons by bittykate Macarons by bittykate
Finally got them right! Chocolate shells filled with chocolate ganache and peanut butter nougat.

EDIT: Holy DD! I'm so excited!! Thanks for all the love, guys!

I had a request to make this a print, but the image is so small that I can only offer teeny ones :D

<3

EDIT 2: Here is the recipe I used: [link]

The woman who runs that blog is incredible. Beautiful photos, wonderful dishes and presentation. She's such an inspiration!

For more info on the method, there's a fabulous article here: [link]
starting on page 36. It was written by the same woman, and it helps A LOT!

Thanks for all the faves and comments, everyone! You don't know how much I appreciate it! *hug*

Macarons by ~bittykate. Tempting, teasing, beguiling... the torment that is ganache! The suggester said, "The deviant has taken a classic cookie and presented it in a whole new light. Culinary arts is just as much about presentation as it is taste, and these Macaroons *look* absolutely delicious. Props to ~bittykate for attempting a challenging cookie and giving us something spectacular to drool over!" ( Suggested by BluestOfBirds and Featured by Kitten-of-Woe )

Thanks :)

And as for low cal.... Come on, you said I was evil :D

I don't think I've ever baked anything low cal... That's a good challenge for me... I'll see if I can come up with anything in the future :)

Hehe. :giggle:

I made some amazing gingerbread cookies for Christmas this year and used applesauce as a sub for butter, so they were fairly low cal. :)

Here is the recipe for them. [link]

Hey, I work with a catering company and I always try to pick up cute images here and there...
Would it be okay to use this shot, because this is one of the deserts we serve, and it would look great for a sweet table menus.
Nice job :)

My boyfriend would soo love these! I wanna make them so badly, they look delicious (and I'm not really even a fan of peanuts personally), but I highly doubt I'd manage to create those shells-thingys! Maybe one day.
